Photos that tell the story

I belong to an email list-serv called "Red Stick Bargains" that usually is about finding good deals at stores in the area and people post to buy and sell used goods. ANYWAY, since Katrina, they also just share info they find. I got this link off there.

So this is a site with photos of one of the more upscale, suburban areas -- you'll see photos from the now-infamous West End Yacht Club, which, if you watched coverage, is the lakeside area that just burned and burned after the hurricane -- every news outlet I saw had a lot of footage of it. Also see people's homes and the actual extent of the flooding. The tragedy of these photos to me, is that this area was DRY before the 17th Street Canal levee gave way. How sick would that make you, to know your home survived, dry, but then subsequently flooded a couple of DAYS later? Anyway...for some reason the linking tool isn't working right now, so you'll have to cut and paste to see it.

It's interesting to see photos from people who live there rather than news orgs.
