My amazing son

Yesterday when I went to pick Will up from preschool, the teacher was letting the kids pick out the sticker they wanted. Will pointed to one and said, "Can I have the one that says 'incredible'?" The teacher was like, "Okay, Wi- wait a minute, how did he know what that said?" I told her he could read and she asked how much. I just told her "a lot." It's not something I go around telling everyone because I don't want him to feel like a freak or a trick dog or something. I kind of wait for people to figure it out on their own. (I don't think his Sunday School teachers have yet, though, because every week he comes back with a sticker for knowing his memory verse, but when I ask it what it is, he whips out his paper and reads it off. I don't think they know he's just reading it off his paper.)

Anyway, when I picked him up today, she told me that he had read a book to the class today! I was so happy because I know it must be so frustrating for him to sit there and "learn" letters with the rest of the class. I feel good that she recognized his ability and chose to use it to include him, not isolate him. It made me happy.

She did say to me, "What are you going to do with him for Kindergarten." I told her we don't really know yet...we don't. This is our next odessey. Stay tuned.
